One of the key features of Xiscan is the Command Line Tool. This tool allows telephone scanning through a powerful command line interface, enabling integration of Xiscan into a production batch processing system for unattended automatic out-of-hours scanning.

The Command Line Tool supports a rich set of options: scan statistics can be generated automatically, results captured to log files, and scans automatically post-processed on completion. The command line variant produces detailed exit status information, allowing a complex batch cycle to be built from multiple dependent scans.

One of the most powerful features of the Command Line is to allow new scans to be built dynamically from a pre-existing scan definition using the clone facility.
